MCM Technologies Berhad appointed Master Distributor for China-Based Shenzhen Linkwave Communication Co. LTD. high performance wireless infrastructure solutions

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 March 2008 – Shenzhen Linkwave Communication Co. Ltd. (Linkwave) today announced the appointment of MCM Technologies Berhad (Mesdaq: MCMTECH), a subsidiary of Amcorp Group Berhad as the master distributor for Linkwave’s products in Malaysia.

Wireless carriers face many challenges in today's competitive marketplace. Minutes of Use (MOUs) are skyrocketing while network improvementcapital and operatingbudgets are painfullytight. In addition,wireless users now expect the same quality of service from their mobile devices as from their landline phones; further straining the wireless network.

This appointment will enable MCM Technologies Berhad to offer a One Stop Shop Solutions for the mobile carriers to increase capacity utilization, lower dropped and blocked calls, extend coverage and enable higher wireless data throughput while reducing capital and operating costs to meet today’s challenges - by doing more with less.

MCM Tech will be able to deliver an ALL-IN-ONE mobile solution to the Mobile Service Providers which would help them to improve their business performance and to fulfill their subscribers’ expectations.

This solution was successfully implemented at Beijing’s National Stadium (Nest) for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and Shanghai Formula 1 International Circuit.

Superconductor Filter

Linkwave’s Superconductor Filter solutions help wireless carriers meet these challenges by doing more with less. Operators can increase capacity utilization, lower dropped and blocked calls, extend coverage, and enable higher wireless data throughput - all while reducing capital and operating costs. The solutions provide ground-based uplink enhancement and antenna sharing products to fit every network.

POI (Point of Interface)

Linkwave POI (Point of Interface), also known as Multi-networks communication Interface (MCI) is an ALL-IN-ONE Indoor Coverage Distribution System that converge multiple wireless network frequencies for 2G/ 3G etc. into a single interface, which then distribute communication signals to large stadiums, metro, transportation facilities, offices, shopping malls etc via an indoor distribution system and broadband antennae. Multi-network convergence among multiple operators both in 2G and 3G can be realized. Meanwhile in order to ensure the signal quality when transmitting, as well as protection against interference, POIs are equipped with high quality components, i.e. interference filter and bridge.

When constructing indoor distribution system for WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, either newly-build or extension, Linkwave always at first focuses on technical bottleneck at lowering indoor interference. High quality filter and other core components equipped in POI are the keys to ensure data transmission quality and prevention against interference after aggregation. The solution has advantages in network capability, wireless network coverage, simple construction, and low-cost.

Push-to-Talk (PTT)

Linkwave PTT technology enables instantaneous Push‑to-Talk (PTT) and push-to-send interaction with unlimited international and roaming capabilities over 2.5-3G networks. Based on existing network coverage, users can conduct international and nationwide Instant Group Communication sessions from any packet-based wireless network to other client-enabled users.

Linkwave PTT solution is primarily based on the PTT Client software and PTT Server. The IPRS Client can be integrated into any current or next-generation mobile handset. PTT Client users can conduct one-to-one or one-to-many instant voice sessions, view the status of other users and manage their address books. Each mobile phone has a designated button that is used to start the session. The PTT Server is integrated into an operator’s network or corporate wireless network to enable multi-user conferencing sessions.

Mobile data services typically require complex conversions between various protocols to convey packet-based data through legacy equipment. The fact that PTT is purely a data service that does not require any interaction with voice networks minimizes the need for such conversions and allows PTT to maintain point-to-point QoS without draining network resources. PTT provides the same QoS as voice services, using much less capacity by bypassing overloaded switching and mobile messaging centers, automatically adjusting transmissions to suit network capabilities, and conducting extensive error-correction in real-time to ensure optimal two-way communication deployed over packet-based 2G/2.5G/3G/WIFI and Internet networks.
